Job Skeels
(1777-1860)

Job Skeels origins are unclear, but his first recorded appearance is actually at his marriage in 1801 to Elizabeth Richardson at Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, England.

At the time of the 1841 census, Job and his family are living at The Lordship, and he is noted as a 'Fishmonger' and having been born outside of Cambridgeshire.

By the time of the 1851 census - which requested more information - he is noted as a 'Former Horse Breaker', and gives his birthplace as Brentford, Middlesex, England. I have yet to locate a baptism that supports this claim, but have found a potential baptism in Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England instead.

Having settled in Swaffham Bulbeck and married, both Job and Elizabeth become parents 10 times, although four of their children fail to live beyond their first year.

Job pre-deceased Elizabeth by just over 12 years in 1860.
