Reuben Barber
(1849-1932)

Reuben Barber was the eighth of the eleven children of shepherd William Barber and his wife Hannah Goltrip of Littleport, Cambridgeshire, England.

Reuben appears on the 1851-1871 censuses for Littleport where he is noted as working as a Shepherd, and living with his family at Camel Road.

By 1871, Reuben had married Elizabeth Dewsbury of Little Thetford, and they became parents to ten children.

In 1898, Reuben and his family have moved a few miles South to live in Witchford, appearing in the marriage registers and also appearing on the 1901 census for Witchford. But before this, and between 1881 and 1898, the family moved to Welney and Southery, Norfolk and during this time their family grew.
