First World War
The War, or The Great War as it was known until The Second World War occurred, saw millions of brave people serve, fight, and die in a war that spanned 1914 to 1918.
I cannot, and I hope that I never, quite comprehend what this human atrocity was like, but in millions of families the impact was undoubtedly all too real as the telegrams and letters returned home to their beloved next of kin with the news of their deaths.
Below, I have compiled a list of the brave who served in the First World War, which includes survivors and those who never returned home.
