Ann Maria Levitt
(1841-1919)
Ann Maria Levitt (also known as Ann Maria Harding) was the seventh of the nine children of John Levitt and his wife Elizabeth Skeel of Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, England.
Ann married widower George Harding of nearby Reach, Cambridgeshire, in 1864, and the couple settled down to have six children.
By the time of the 1881 census, George is working as Coal Porter, and the family have moved to the city of Cambridge. However, George is absent from his family in 1871 and again in 1891, leaving Ann to care for their children. She notes herself as 'wife', during this time, and it isn't until 1901 when she finally notes herself as a widow. However, no death (with correct age) appears to be registered for a George Harding.
By 1901, Ann is also noted as a Grocer, and she is living with her youngest daughter Amelia, and a grandson named Percy Harding.
Amelia and Percy would remain with Ann for her final census, and are joined by another grandson, Roland Harding.
