Harriet Levitt
(1827-1886)
Harriet Levitt (later Harriet Fordham) was the second of the nine children of John Levitt and his wife Elizabeth Skeel of Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, England.
Harriet married labourer Ephraim Fordham in 1847, and by the time of the 1851 census, the couple are living next door to Harriet's parents and siblings, with the oldest of their eventual two children.
In 1881, the couple are living at The White Swan (Public House) on Swaffham Bulbeck's High Street. Ephraim is noted as a 'Licensed Victualler', and the couple are joined by their 7 year old grandson Herbert Fordham.
Harriet died in September 1886 aged 59 years, but Ephraim remained in Swaffham Bulbeck, and appears aged 77 years living at Commercial End, although when he died aged 91 in 1914, he was at the Newmarket Union Workhouse.
