Cambridgeshire
Cambridgeshire is a county of England, United Kingdom.
The county, often abbreviated as 'Cambs', has been home to the majority of my ancestors for the last 200-300 years. Amongst these, my longest resident ancestors have been the Barber family, who are documented as living in the county since at least 1589.
In 1974, county boundaries were amended, resulting in a number of parishes from the neighbouring county of Huntingdonshire (to the West), becoming absorbed into Cambridgeshire, but forming the District of Huntingdonshire. These Huntingdonshire parishes feature within the Huntingdonshire page.
The Chapman Code for Cambridgeshire is CAM.
