William Newman
(1791-1872)
William Newman was the second of the six children of Philip Newman and his second wife Elizabeth Whitehead of Haddenham, Cambridgeshire, England.
William married Ann Clarke of St. Ives, Cambridgeshire, and the couple settled down in William's native village of Haddenham where they became parents seven times.
William worked as an agricultural labourer in the fertile fenland surrounding Haddenham for more than thirty years.
William was pre-deceased by his wife Ann and son Edwin, and died in January 1872.
