Mary Rayner
(1756-1827)
Mary Rayner (later Mary Yarrow) was the sixth of the seven children of Flower Rayner, and the third of the four children with his second wife Susanna West of Ely, Cambridgeshire, England.
Mary's father Flower had twice previously become father to daughters named Mary, but neither survived, and by 1748 his first wife had died too. This Mary was the only daughter of the four children with his second wife Susanna West.
When she was approximately 21 years old, she married farmer John Yarrow of Little Thetford. The couple soon started their family with the first of their eventual eight children being born the following year. Only one of these children was a daughter, and only one of them died as a child.
It is currently not clear whether Mary pre-deceased her husband John.
