The Taylor family
The Taylor family of Ely lived at Cambridge Road (1857) and Potter's Lane (1841) in Ely, Cambridgeshire during the 19th Century.
The earliest Taylor ancestors that I have found is Isaac Taylor and his wife Sarah Carpenter (this was her widowed surname) and a witness at their wedding in 1789 - a Mr William Taylor.
Their son Isaac, married his first wife Ann Fenn in 1817 but she died shortly afterwards and he soon re-married to Sarah Gooby in 1819. It is with her that he is known to have fathered at least ten children.
