The Levitt family of Cambridgeshire
The Levitt has taken my research back to 1750, when my 6x Great Grandparents James Levitt and Frances Roote were married at Swaffham Bulbeck, Cambridgeshire, England.
The family remained in Swaffham Bulbeck for at least four generations, with my most recent Levitt ancestor - my 3x Great Grandmother, Emma Levitt being born there in 1825, and buried in 1893.
It is Emma that connects the Levitt family with my Newman family, via her marriage to my 3x Great Grandfather Charles Newman in 1847. Whilst their Newman children were born in Swaffham Bulbeck, they would ultimately move away.
Other branches of the Levitt family remained, and the parish records continue to record the Levitt family members well into the 20th century.
