Ann Norman
(1786-1874)
Ann Norman (later Ann Babbage) was the fourth of the eight children of Christopher Norman and his wife Susannah Cross of Stawley, Somerset, England.
Ann married John Babbage of Ashbrittle, Somerset in 1809, and they are known to have had at least six children - all daughters - before John dies.
Ann appears as a widow on the 1841 census, and ten years later she appears as 'Ann Babago', a washer woman who is living with their two youngest daughters Martha and Elizabeth. She appears with her married daughter Elizabeth in 1861.
Whilst how long John pre-deceased her remains unclear, she dies in late-April/early-May in 1874 aged 88 years.
